Oak Arts & Crafts Art Nouveau Side Chair by Kobus de Graaff, 1900s

About the Item

Magnificent and rare Arts & Crafts Art Nouveau side chair. Design by Kobus de Graaff, a famous Dutch artist, furniture maker and sculptor. Striking Dutch design from the 1900s. Solid oak frame with hand-carved decorations and on top of the backrest two original hand-carved owls. The original seat was covered with cane but unfortunately the cane was very damaged after all these years. The former owner has re-upholstered the chair with a green premium fabric, this is done in a matter that the original seat can be re-upholstered with cane again! This wonderful Arts & Crafts Art Nouveau side chair by Kobus de Graaff is in very good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. Our gallery is a family-owned and managed company which has been dedicated to dealing in 20th century Decorative Arts since it's foundation in the late 1920s. We supply customers around the world from our headquarters in Amsterdam and our new showroom in Cruquius near Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
