About the Item

This pair of mid-century century Louis XVI Montgolfier style painted side chairs features hot air balloon seat backs and hand carved rosettes at the die joints. The balloon back is detailed with a vitruvian scroll and a central medallion with an M. The chairs are upholstered in white leather and finished with nail head trim. The seats rest on classic fluted legs and the back legs are secured by neural screws. A handsome pair painted white with pale blue trim, circa 1940.
