French 19th century Empire st. patinated wood and Giltwood settee
About the Item
A handsome and large scale French 19th century Empire st. patinated wood and Giltwood settee. This exceptional settee is raised by seven supports, with four being circular front legs based and topped with Giltwood bands, and a central Giltwood foliate design. The curved front apron is decorated by rosettes above each leg while flanking Palmettes accented with central rosettes. The scrolled upholstered arms are decorated by large acanthus leaves, while the upholstered back is decorated similarly to the front apron. Wonderful scale and statement making presence.
