Italian ‘Nuvolone’ Modular 4 Seat Sofa + Coffee Table by Rino Maturi

About the Item

The collaboration between Italian designer Rino Maturi and manufacturer Mimo Padova is a hallmark of 1970s design, merging modernism with space-age influence. The Nuvolone Collection exemplifies their forward-thinking approach, blending avant-garde aesthetics with the cozy, tactile qualities of materials like leather, velvet, and foam. The ‘Nuvolone’ modular sofa by Rino Maturi resembles that of soft, billowing clouds, both in shape and comfort. Created for Mimo Padova in the 1970s, it consists of four generously proportioned seating elements, each with a polyurethane foam core wrapped in original deep purple fabric.  The acrylic-topped coffee table includes four storage compartments, with one cleverly tailored to hold decks of cards. The modular design provides versatile arrangement options—transforming effortlessly from a spacious, lounging sofa to more intimate, conversational seating. Condition: Good vintage condition, with discoloration to areas of the upholstery. Maker’s mark present along the underside of each piece. Reupholstery recommended; we have elected to sell this set in its current state so the end user can select fabric. Upholstery services are available through our showroom (Fabric + Upholstery Labor is not included in the purchase price). Additional Dimensions: Table: 38"W x 38"D x 16.5"H
