A very good looking collectable and rare stool, it is just under 160 years old from new, made the Netherlands as mentioned using period timber, the piece has been wonderfully preserved and is now ready to serve its new owners
This is a Piano bench seat or perhaps an occasional seat for a bay window or a dressing table, it is really quite splendid in any setting
As mentioned this piece is fully restored, it has been stripped down to the frame and totally rebuilt, the upholstery is fully aniline Italian cattle hide leather, this was newly upholstered, fully aniline leather is plain which is significantly more expensive that pretreated leather, the hide was then hand dyed six times, antiqued, sealed waxed down and polished, all the upholstery is held in place with hand tacked brass studs to the top, this is quite literally the finest quality stool available for sale anywhere in the world today
