Ce tabouret en bois de paulownia (kiri) incarne l'esthétique sobre et épurée du mouvement Mingei tel que défini par Sōetsu Yanagi dans son ouvrage "L’Idée du Mingei" (1933). Il reflète les principes fondamentaux de ce mouvement, étant à la fois modeste et authentique, abordable mais robuste. Les objets Mingei doivent éviter l'artifice, la sophistication et le luxe, privilégiant plutôt la simplicité, la sincérité et la fiabilité. Ce tabouret, conservant son aspect d'origine, possède un intérieur entièrement vide, permettant de stocker divers objets selon les besoins. Sa construction solide et stable en fait un support fiable, même pour des objets lourds, et il peut également servir d'escabeau ou d'établi. La présence d'une ouverture ronde le rend très pratique à transporter.
