A Rare 19th Century Giltwood Country House Jardineire Converted to a Long Stool

About the Item

A very rare 19th Century giltwood Country House jardiniere converted to a long stool, fully restored, finely hand carved and of exceptional quality. The gorgeous cushioned lift up seat of rectangular form is upholstered in a beautiful cream and gold fabric and opens to reveal a fitted storage compartment. Raised over an intricately hand carved, moulded giltwood base with egg and dart border detail and fabulous reeded panels to the front and sides with an intricately carved arrangement of acanthus leaves and flowerhead flanked a further stunning arrangement of centred shell, beading and foliate detail flanked with scrolling acanthus leaves, all beautifully carved in high relief, terminating on platform base.
