The extremely rare and stylish hand carved solid wood swivel chairs are packed with personality! Outstanding design is exhibited throughout. Hand carved cerused oak from a single wood block. The chairs was hand made in the spirit of Wabi-Sabi, a Japanese philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. A beauty of things unconventional. It is the opposite of vulgarity. The costs of achieving this kind of minimalism are seemingly inconsistent with its mission of aesthetic humility. This kind of luxury is for a select few: The Emperor of Japan had a Wabi garden. Wabi is for people who already have a lot. The chairs features a sculpted back design on a plinth wood base. Very heavy, 100lbs+. The chairs artisan crafted with meticulous care. Given its handmade and hand-finished nature, variations and imperfections in the wood are to be expected and celebrated. The wood may be somewhat uneven, and bow slightly or develop additional cracks over time, further enhancing its one-of-a-kind character; Bold and striking, the pieces can be in any interior setting or capture the eye in any environment.
