Set of Six Antique Italian 17th-18th Century Rocchetto Chairs

About the Item

A rare and elegant set of six antique Italian chairs dating back to the 17th-18th centuries, crafted with exceptional artisan skill. These chairs are a magnificent example of the Rocchetto style, typical of the Baroque period, featuring turned legs, intricate carvings, and richly decorative elements. Perfect for castles, historic villas, museum interiors, or grand ceremonial halls, these chairs represent the very best of historic Italian furniture craftsmanship. Period Craftsmanship and Sculptural Detail Made entirely from solid antique wood, each chair is intricately carved by hand. The high backrest is crowned with an elegant scroll-shaped crest, while the upper finial displays floral inlay work, a hallmark of Baroque-era refinement. The chairs rest on distinctive rocchetto (spool-shaped) legs, connected by crossed volute stretchers that ensure stability and lend the piece an architectural elegance. Original Period Leather on Seat and Back The seats and backrests are upholstered in original period leather, which shows visible signs of age, adding to the chairs' authentic historical character. These timeworn details enhance their charm and narrative appeal. Restoration is available upon request, carefully preserving their original materials and structural beauty. Historic Gondrand Shipping Label Underneath the chairs, there are labels from the historic Gondrand shipping company, adding another layer of interest. Although the exact date of shipment cannot be confirmed, these labels attest to the chairs' historical journey and significance. Ideal for Prestigious Interiors Thanks to their refined workmanship and historical value, these chairs are ideal for castles, noble residences, heritage palaces, historic libraries, or formal interiors. They make a powerful decorative statement while offering a genuine connection to Italian design history.
