Federal Wing Chair Massachusetts Circa 1790 Primary Wood: Mahogany Secondary Woods: Maple, Birch, White Pine Height: 45 1/2 inches Width: 27 1/2 inches Depth: 22 1/2 inches Seat Height: 18 inches with cushion A very fine wing chair made in Massachusetts and following the form of the back prescribed by Chippendale in his last Director. The trapezoidal seat and cushion are comfortable and support the beautifully shaped and formed wings and back. Of particular interest is the serpentine crest. This is a fine and useful piece of furniture that can fit in a modern or traditional home. The chair remains in excellent antique condition retaining its original blocks to the seat and having no losses or alterations of any consequence to value.
