George III mahogany breakfront bookcase, the pierced, scrolled broken pediment above a partially inlaid, stepped molding, above a fluted frieze centered by foliate swags, with paterae to the four corners, above a pair of glass mullioned cabinet doors flanked on each side by a further conforming cabinet door, each enclosing an ivory silk-lined interior with three adjustable shelves, on a base with a fluted frieze above four paneled doors, each centered by an oval, on a plinth base Provenance: Bought from Stair & Company, New York in 1968; Christie's "Important English Furniture" sale, 2008.
