This is an antique Arts & Crafts book stand. An English, mahogany magazine rack or Canterbury, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910. Of delightful form and attractive presentation for the avid reader Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks show fine grain interest and warm caramel hues Boxwood 'arrow' inlay adds distinction throughout Angled book trough with a useful magazine rack below, over an open display shelf Shaped sides with handle grasps for ease of carriage Accentuated with superb pierced fretwork spade motif to each side Standing upon arched trestle feet, engraved beneath with a serial number This is a fascinating antique Arts & Crafts book stand, usefully offering storage for books and magazines. Delightful finish and detailing, and can be moved from room to room if required. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
