Colourful Postmodern Formica Lacquer Bent Metal Cubic Shelving Unit on Wheels
About the Item
A unique piece, this graphic, playful shelving unit epitomises the Italian post-modern aesthetic, lead by Ettore Sottsass. Both functional and poetic, a white cubic shelving unit seems to be caught within a yellow frame, which is placed on a jaunty angle, creating a dynamic compositions. With red wheels on one end and a wavy green handle extending over the shelves, like a line on a page, the piece is able to be wheeled and moved easily.
Constructed from white and yellow melamine or formica, with red painted wooden wheels and a powder coated green handle, the piece exhibits the postmodernist tendency of flat, artificial looking colours and materials.
Functioning as both a shelving unit, a screen or a room divider, the piece can be placed both centrally in a room or against a wall. Its height blocks the view whilst seated, but allow a clear vision across the room when standing, making in useful yet unobtrusive. Without markings, this piece is a unique gem that will add personality and fun to any space it inhabits.
