About the Item

English George III style mahogany and burl bookcase cabinet in two parts. The upper with glazed doors having individual arched mullions and opening with a key to reveal two adjustable wood shelves. The top of the cabinet with dentil moulding. The lower cabinet in the form of a slant desk with two short over 3 long with Chippendale style brass hardware. Two pull outs support the 3-hinged door decorated with green tooled leather. The interior with a shell inlaid central door opening to storage, flanked by reeded columns and 3 pigeon holes each side along with 4 small shallow drawers. The whole resting upon bracket feet. Dimensions: 41" L (at bottom), 19 3/4" D x 84" H Condition: Please see detail photos. Various acceptable signs of age include the door is a little tight with light alligatoring, very minor hairlines and sporadic alligatoring mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is particularly fine.
