About the Item

Wall unit, cherry, brass, Italy, 1960s Hailing from a skilled artisan of Italy, this exceptional library unit excels in form, material use, composition, and craftsmanship. The bookcase reflects the design principles of the midcentury era that rose to prominence in the 1950s and 1960s. The aesthetic of the design evokes the stylistic tendencies of Italian masters Enrico Ciuti (1910-1991) and Gianni Pietro Saibene. The composition is based on three columns, each uniquely configured to accommodate various open and closed storage units. The defining features of this piece are the intricately carved elements evident in the distinctive handles, the frame that gracefully curves towards the wall, and the sculpted feet adorned with brass. This sideboard promises to delight any bibliomaniac or art connoisseur with an appreciation for Italian midcentury design. Please note that this item is in good, used condition.
