Pair of George III Style Pine Chinese Chippendale Bookcases
About the Item
Gorgeous pair of English George III Style bookcases or display cabinet étagères decorated in the Chinese Chippendale taste. The cases are constructed from pine having a natural finish that showcases the rich, warm woodgrains throughout the pieces. The cabinets feature 18th century chinoiserie influence with geometric fretwork and lattice work over the glass panels in the Chippendale school style inspired by Asian motifs. Each case has a decorative cornice molding having carved arches and ball finials in the classical aesthetic. The interiors have been lacquered in a light robins egg blue tone that lightens the design in a whimsical way. The cabinets are supported by gracefully shaped bracket feet. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship in very good, well-preserved condition. Sold as a pair. From an estate in Beverly Hills, CA. Each upper cabinet is fitted with 2 glass shelves and wired with lighting.

- Condition:Repaired: minor old repairs. Wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with solid joinery and construction. Very good, well- preserved condition as seen in photos. Age appropriate wear with very minor chips, scuffs, and scratches on the finish which are difficult to see. Interior has older lighting.
