About the Item

Elegant pair of walnut sideboard-bookcases from a historic Venetian villa, where they furnished a reception room. Dating from the early nineteenth century, they are distinguished by their large size and the balance between classical restraint and decorative refinement. Each piece of furniture consists of two bodies: Upper body with two glass doors, with open compartments divided by interior shelves; Lower body with four closed doors and capacious storage compartments. The lines are clean and essential, but embellished with signature details: the upper cornice is finely carved with leaf and groove motifs, and the legs are shaped at a slight angle, lending momentum and lightness to the whole. The walnut wood, with beautiful grain, is carefully crafted, a sign of fine workmanship, probably from Venice or Padua. Dimensions (each sideboard): Height 252cm - Width 155cm - Depth 68cm approx State of conservation: good. Minimal cracks and minor wear consistent with age are present. Preventive pest control (woodworm control) and light wax polishing to revive the patina is recommended. We ship Worldwide. We remain available for further information, photographs or details.
