Antique French Carved Oak Hunt Cabinet Confiturier Black Forest Fox Wine Cabinet
About the Item
19th century French carved oak hunt cabinet Confiturier Black Forest fox.
Directly imported from France, a beautifully hand carved 19th century French confiturier cabinet, in a versatile size, perfect for placement in any room and a customer favorite for use as a wine cabinet.
Features include a beveled edge cabinet top over the carved frieze that features a full length drawer with carved French gadrooning, and dimensional carved lion masks to the corners.
Raised and carved scrolls above Black Forest fruit and foliage carvings flank the dimensionally carved door panel, having “spoils of the hunt” carvings that include a fox and hunting rifle. Large carved lozenge panel above the lower moulding and carved bun feet.
Quality throughout with dovetailed drawer; well built by craftsmen of the period, circa1870.
