About the Item

Retains maker's label "Gouffé" for Maison Gouffé. Gouffe is a very highly regarded Faubourg Saint-Antoine Paris furniture manufacturer, particularly for its collaboration with renowned French cabinetmaker, Jean Royere, who joined Gouffe in 1934 as a décorateur and the head of their contemporary furniture department; his collaboration with Gouffe would last 8 years.
