About the Item

This mid Georgian sarcophagus tea caddy, hand-crafted from beautifully grained mahogany, contains the original crystal mixing bowl and two wooden tea boxes. The caddy is on four wooden bun feet and has all its original brass fittings, escutcheon, lock and hinges (the original key is missing). There are slight signs of wear and some scratches on the polished surface consistent with age and use. The mixing bowl is in perfect condition and the compartment's red velvet liner is in good order. The inside lid of the tea boxes has patchy remains of the original liner.
