Important 17th Century Italian Cabinet (Bargueño) Exceptional Italian bargueño cabinet from the 17th century, finely crafted in fruitwoods with exquisite tortoiseshell and engraved bone inlays, and adorned with gilt bronze mounts. The central door opens to reveal additional small drawers and retains its original lock. The stand (table) is a later addition, complementing the cabinet’s elegance. The cabinet is raised by claw and ball feet below a mottled border. Each drawer displays two exquisite central tortoiseshell reserves framed within an etched bone foliate border and a mottled border with a fine pierced brass foliate keyhole escutcheon. Each drawer is separated by charming and detailed pierced brass rosettes. Leading up each side are intricately etched bone inlayed plaques with masks and foliate garlands.
