About the Item

A Chinese Late Qing Dynasty period elmwood cabinet from the early 20th century with five drawers, two doors and iron hardware. Created in China during the late Qing Dynasty in the early years of the 20th century, this elm wood cabinet features a rectangular top sitting above a perfectly organized façade. Indeed, three small drawers, fitted with pierced iron hardware, are followed by two longer ones, all showcasing dovetail accents. A pair of double doors below made of recessed panels of lighter color than the surrounding frames and opening to reveal a small storage compartment, complete the ensemble. The two-toned sides are made of recessed panels while the back is nicely distressed with a darker color. The ensemble is raised on four straight feet with carved apron in the front and low stretcher on the sides. We review all of our pieces and address issues we may find before they leave for your home; however, this is an antique piece, and as such it will keep its character and some imperfections, which is the quintessence of antique and vintage furniture. With its clean lines and lovely organization, this Chinese late Qing Dynasty period elm wood cabinet from the early 20th century will make for a great addition to any home, placed in a living room or foyer.
