About the Item
An exceptional pair of antique French walnut marble top bedside cabinets. They were made in France, they date from around the 1870–1890’s.
The quality is incredible, they are probably the finest example of antique French bedside cabinets we have ever come across. They are beautifully made from walnut, with stunning grain patterns throughout. There is fine banding around the drawer fronts, there is also beautiful inlaid floral patterns on the door fronts. They have beautiful rouge marble tops which are fixed in place, there are also extremely high quality ormolu mounts on the doors and upper corners. The interiors are also nicely fitted out, in one cabinet there is a tambour fronted section with a porcelain lined interior.
We have had these recently re-polished to a very high standard, the condition is superb.

They are of outstanding quality and are a very useful size, with lots of storage space. The wood has acquired a gorgeous colour tone and patina, they have extremely well made ormolou mounts and handles, with gorgeous details.
We have had these recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for their age. There is just some minor wear remaining beneath the polish here and there.
