Pair of fabulous French Macassar Ebony and Black Plexi Cabinets
About the Item
Pair of Fine French Art Deco ebene de Macassar cabinets. Overall cubist design with double front doors bearing long rectangular openwork nickeled bronze handles. The sides feature stepped black plexi panels which extend the full length of the cabinet.
These are a real left and right pair.
Original high gloss lacquer finish in excellent condition, with some very light scratches and minor old veneer repair in a few areas, barely noticeable.

An outstanding French Art Deco / Mid Century Modern tall cabinet.
with N.F. Ameublement seal. The armoire features stunning Macassar ebony in a geometric parquetry inlaid pattern with dots of decorative mother of pearl inlay. The case rests on elegant, tapered ebonized legs capped by nickeled bronze tall sabots.
The exterior wood grain is all in the original high gloss lacquer finish.
and is in very good original condition, with minor wear consistent with age.
This unique piece offers an interior refinished in beautiful cedar with ample storage supporting two interior shelves behind the double doors.
A unique blend of Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern design pervades this cabinet and showcases an overall exquisite cubist, stark and simple design.
The original label is present, and is stamped 1973.

A glamorous pair of French modern mixed media night stands in lacquered warm silver/ white gold, mahogany and blonde wood. The cubist and angular shape is trimmed with a sinuous scroll ended molding at the top and bottom, while supported with four short and graceful cabriole legs.
A single front door houses a raw interior space and above it rests an open finished cubby hole compartment with mahogany floor. The mahogany inlaid chevron parquetry design on the door is accented with the original oblong decorative handle in polished nickel. In the style of Andre Arbus.
