About the Item

A large Chinese Qing Dynasty period wooden kitchen cabinet from the 19th century with fretwork motifs, carved scrolling apron, brass hardware and hidden drawers. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, this large two-section kitchen cabinet features a small upper cabinet adorned with geometric quatrefoil style fretwork motifs on its doors. These doors open thanks to traditional brass teardrop pulls to reveal a small interior and a petite carved rail in the upper section. Two wooden doors below carved with slightly raised panels and fitted with similar hardware on narrow backplates, open to inner shelves and hidden drawers decorated with incised cartouches. The ensemble is accented with a carved skirt showcasing auspicious clouds and stylized dragon motifs. Raised on four short straight feet, the cabinet presents recessed panels on the sides and a dark hued planked back. With its clean lines, delicate fretwork quatrefoil motifs and warm patina, this Chinese Qing Dynasty period 19th century cabinet will make for a great addition to any kitchen or dining room!
