About the Item

COMPAGNIA MARCONI (LA VOCE DEL PADRONE, COLUMBIA e MARCONIPHONE) Modello: Marconi 1562 Un pezzo di storia della Marina Militare e Mercantile italiana... mobile in legno di quercia e elettronica raffinata per una radio che ha saputo accompagnare i marinai dell'era d'oro della Marina Moderna. Completano il sistema il prezioso piatto giradischi in Acciaio laccato con braccio interamente in Bachelite. Agli inizi dell’attività la Compagnia Marconi annoverava fra i primi clienti “istituzionali” la Marina Mercantile e quella Militare alle quali le attrezzature di rice-trasmissione prodotte venivano date in affitto (“leasing” moderno) incluso il personale operativo per il solo settore civile. Questo comportava di avere scuole di addestramento allocate presso le Officine Marconi, come a Genova. Nel 1928 His Master’s Voice (USA), conosciuta in Italia come “La Voce del Padrone” (stabilimenti a Milano) e che produceva grammofoni e dischi, si rese conto che la radio avrebbe modificato pericolosamente la consistenza del suo mercato di riferimento. Decise di acquistare la Marconiphone inglese, per integrare velocemente la gamma di prodotti da offrire, apparecchi radio inclusi. Naturalmente la più grande e potente azienda tra le due era la His Master’s Voice che impose i suoi standard produttivi e progettuali, molto orientati alla standardizzazione di serie. Inoltre la produzione di un modello poteva essere prodotto in una nazione e commercializzato ovunque (His Master’s Voice, per esempio, controllava il marchio Pathè in Francia). In Italia la produzione comprendeva anche il marchio Columbia. L’attività produttiva civile cessò, in Italia, alla fine degli anni ’60.
