19th Century Mahogany Military Secrétaire Chest

About the Item

19th century mahogany military secrétaire chest, having a combination of two short over four long mahogany lined drawers with original brass recessed handles, the middle drawer pulls out to reveal a lovely quality secrétaire drawer with various compartments and secret drawers, the centre of the drawer there is a lift up writing slope with a leather writing surface with blind and gold tooling, the chest has brass corner straps throughout, on the top right hand drawer there is a label marked “Army & Navy C.S.L makers” The chest is in two sections so it’s easy to place in any premises, supported on turned feet. Superb quality and in excellent condition, Circa 1880.
