Empire dresser Milan, early 19th century
About the Item
Empire chest of drawers in mahogany and mahogany veneer walnut, front with four drawers, the first of which juts out, half columns with truncated pyramidal base and capital in worked and gilded bronze. Finely chiseled and gilded bronze spouts and applications. Ebonized ferine feet and gilt leaf carvings. Bardiglio gray marble top. Iron locks with exposed brass plaque, the one on the second drawer with a double latch to close the first. Probable Manfredini bronze production.
