About the Item
This is an antique Japanese-made drawer.
It is thought to date to the Meiji period, made primarily of paulownia and cedar.
In addition to the reddish tinge that comes with years of use, the complementary black creates a gradated, artistic texture.
The peeling paint has also given way to a natural texture, adding to the overall atmosphere of the piece. The scratched texture is also a natural artistic expression that develops over many years of use.
Displaying small vases or other items on top of drawers will make the items stand out more.
It adds a touch of wabi-sabi beauty to simple, modern interiors, creating a beautiful space.
*There are some insect bites on the bottom of the drawer, but this has been cleaned.
