Exemplary 18th Century Paint Decorated Corner Cabinet, Christie's Provenance
About the Item
With a Christies, New York auction sticker on the back. The cabinet with carved cornice and openwork frieze. Carved sinuous floral vine supports flank the glass door with mullions in a light brown stain. The interior in pale green paint with three shelves. The lower cabinet with metal mounts (broken lock) for the carved recessed door panel. The whole with canted corners and painted overall in a green dotted pattern on black ground. The lower case with floral vines flanking the door and complementing the carved vine supports above.
Measures: Height. 76", Width. 48", Depth 14"
Condition: There are some age-related scrapes along the lower cabinet edges, some scrapes here and there above but minor and good antique patina with a phenomenal presentation.
