About the Item

Steeped in history, this small Swedish wall cabinet features a beautifully hand-painted tulip on the door, framed by layers of aged paint in soft, muted tones. The exterior retains its original worn finish, while the interior is inscribed with "The Lord's Peace be With You" and the name Gven Olsfon, 1823, alongside additional hand-painted tulip motifs. Two interior shelves offer functional storage, making it an ideal piece for displaying small keepsakes. A deeply molded cornice adds architectural presence, while the timeworn surface reflects generations of use. Its charming folk art details and well-preserved structure bring a touch of Swedish heritage to any space. Handcrafted in Sweden during the early 19th century, an interior inscription dates the cupboard to 1823. Constructed using hand-forged iron nails and pegged joinery. The cupboard has a slight lean. Original lockbox and skeleton key are present. A hand-forged iron hook is attached to the back of the cupboard for hanging. Overall wear is consistent with age and use. Measures approximately 25.125” W x 12” D x 25.5” H.
