About the Item

A wonderful example of Swedish country craftsmanship and folk art painting from the Dalarna region of Sweden. This cupboard is exquisitely painted throughout in blue tones and decorative floral patterns throughout. Of special note is the large step cut crown molding with a date of 1845 inside a floral crown. Upper cabinet locks with included key. Lower cabinet door held in place with small latch (lock no longer functions). Note, this cabinet also has two traditional drawers that are only accessible when the upper cabinet doors are open. No pull to the drawers, they are painted and blend into the decor of the cabinet. Please take a moment to enlarge the photos and examine the details up close. This highly original Swedish cupboard has been professionally restored and waxed so it is strong, stable and ready for use. All nicks, scratches, cracks, signs of distress/wear are commensurate with age (see small hole and cracks in back) and do not impact the function nor beauty of this original blue painted Swedish Dalarna cabinet. Please refer to professional photos for clear understanding of color, condition, and details; photo lighting, individual monitor display and home lighting all impact how item is viewed. Photos are part of item description, please ask questions or request additional photos of specific areas if needed.
