Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning full sized Victorian circa 1860-1880 Military Campaign Davenport desk writing slope with sliding top, brown leather embossed writing surface and brass gallery rail Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price I’ve only ever seen one other in this size before and it was retailing for nearly £8,000 They are very rare, designed to take on campaign so they are usually small and lightweight, this one is full sized and much larger than normal. Later in life it may have been used in a library or study, for today it can be used for exactly the same function, this is the best possible kind of antique, one that looks stylish and sophisticated and still has a function The leather top has been fully restored and hand dyed, I've not seen many with the brass gallery rails to the top, it is a sign of pure class Condition wise we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished it, it has a genuine period patina which is to say there are marks as you would expect based on age and use Dimensions Height:- 112.5cm Width:- 51cm Depth:- 59cm, with the top extended 76.5cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point, if you would like any additional or specific measurements please ask Any questions please feel free to ask before you bid Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
