Early 19th century Welsh oak dresser and rack

About the Item

Superb quality 18th century welsh dresser and rack from the Montgomeryshire region circa 1815. Comprising of 2 parts.  Top section with 2 shelves and central partition and some of the original hooks in place, others with later replacements.  1 drawer with an engraved date of 1815 in the drawer lining.  Original oak back boards, with obvious shrinkage between the boards, but this is not noticed when the piece is correctly placed up against the wall. Base section with 3 drawers and original handles, standing on turned front legs with potboard shelf, and later beading for plate support and display items. Lovely honest colour and patina. Expected surface marks from age, minor restorations to woodwork.  Minor losses to metalwork to brass handles.
