A classic example of American mid-century design, this vintage dresser is from the Parallel line by Drexel, introduced in the early 1960s. Designed with an emphasis on clean geometry and warm natural materials, this piece showcases Drexel’s signature craftsmanship and refined proportions.
The case is constructed from solid wood, likely walnut, featuring rich grain patterns and a warm amber-toned finish. The four full-width drawers offer ample storage and are dovetail joined, with smoothly functioning slides and clean interiors. Each drawer is fitted with original cast metal half-moon drawer pulls in an aged brass toned finish, adding a subtle sculptural detail to the otherwise minimalist facade.
The cabinet sits on an integrated base with square tapered legs and a floating stretcher, lending the piece a sense of lightness and architectural poise. The sides and top display attractive bookmatched grain, and the edges are softly rounded, enhancing the organic feel typical of the era.
In excellent vintage condition with light surface wear, including minor scuffs and finish variations consistent with age and use. Structurally solid and fully functional.
