About the Item

Introducing the rare and stunning William Hinn curved front dresser by The Swedish Furniture Guild for Urban Furniture. This Swedish Modern classic has been executed in Black walnut and is absolutely stunning in person. When the light hits the front of this piece the wood looks like it glows from within. This rare Swedish case piece designed by William Hinn and produced in Sweden circa 1960s is an icon of the period, super rare and sought after. This dresser has four book-matched drawers . The entirety of the front has a slight concave curve. The dresser sits on four legs that give the piece a floating appearance. Marked 'MADE IN SWEDEN' on the back of the case. Beautiful exoskeleton leg design. Circa 1960's. This piece will provide a huge amount of storage in a bedroom or it can be used as a center piece under a TV or an entryway. A sculptural masterpiece from Swedish-American designer William Hinn, this rare 4-drawer dresser is a standout example of mid-century modern design at its most refined. Made in Sweden in the 1950s, this piece showcases Hinn’s signature biomorphic lines, impeccable proportions, and exceptional craftsmanship. The dresser is constructed from richly figured walnut with deep, flowing grain patterns across the drawer fronts that are visually seamless and warmly organic. Its subtly bowed profile, integrated drawer pulls, and contoured legs reflect Hinn’s innovative approach to form, giving the piece a striking sense of movement and balance. The long, tapered legs elevate the case, creating a floating effect that enhances its lightness and elegance. Professionally restored by the Hobbs Modern team, this dresser has been brought back to its full visual and functional glory, with a silky finish that highlights the complexity and depth of the walnut. Perfect as a bedroom dresser, statement piece in an entryway, or even as a sculptural storage solution in a living space, this is a collector-level piece that will resonate with fans of Scandinavian design and American mid-century craftsmanship alike.
