About the Item

This early nineteenth century Biedermeier period Austrian vitrine is constructed of burled birch wood and features ebonized pearwood columns. Its single door and sides are fitted with its original hand blown glass. The door opens to allow access to its interior with two shelves. The upper shelf has an additional half shelf supported by ebonized columns that mimic those on the exterior. The cabinet rests on simple tapered square legs. A handsome small scale piece with a 65 inch height and a cabinet that only measures 31.5 inches, this piece is sure to make a statement in any interior. Includes one key. c. 1820.
