About the Item

A refined walnut display sideboard in the Tuscan Barocchetto style, creato da Michele Bonciani, a distinguished 20th-century cabinetmaker from Cascina. This elegant piece dates to the 1940s and features a graceful tripartite structure: two side doors with original beveled glass panels and perforated brass mesh inserts, flanking an open central section with shaped shelves. The fluid lines of the scalloped cornices and the cabriole front feet exemplify the soft, curvilinear aesthetic typical of Barocchetto furniture, while the craftsmanship reflects the tradition of fine Tuscan woodworking. The piece is crafted from solid and veneered walnut with a rich, warm patina that highlights the natural grain of the wood. This sideboard is ideal as a bookcase, a display cabinet, or a unique bar piece. It would complement both traditional interiors and more eclectic spaces, adding character and historical depth. ✅ Why This Piece? Authentic Tuscan Craftsmanship This sideboard embodies the elegance and quality of 20th-century Florentine cabinetry, by Michele Bonciani — a name synonymous with precision and style. Timeless Design The Tuscan Barocchetto style bridges classic and contemporary, with its gently curved lines, warm walnut tones, and brass grille details — ideal for both period interiors and modern eclectic settings. Functional Versatility Both decorative and practical, this piece offers ample storage behind elegant glass doors and a central open display area. Perfect as a bookcase, a dining room server, or a unique bar cabinet. Statement Piece with Character Its understated sophistication and handcrafted details make it a conversation piece that adds depth and authenticity to any space. Excellent Condition Preserved in very good original condition, with rich patina and minimal signs of age — ready to be enjoyed immediately. About: Bonciani-Cascina The Tuscany Bonciani firm, important and famous furniture maker, especially for Renaissance style furniture, appreciated in Italy and abroad, was born on the initiative of Michele Bonciani in 1851. Upon his death on 21 December 1936, the firm was handed over by inheritance to Marino Ivo and Mario Bonciani who set up a de facto company. The firm changed partners again when Marino Ivo Bonciani died on 11 April 1940, replaced by Graziella Benincasa, Bonciani's widow. The company had also received various awards for its work: the Cascina Municipality Award in 1906, the Cascina Campionaria Grand Prix in 1922, the Lucca Biennale Exhibition Grand Prix in 1926, the Tripoli Exposition Grand Prix in 1927. On 31/12/1947 the firm ceased due to the dissolution of the company
