About the Item
Industrial furniture from the fifties and the sixties is making a strong comeback, because finally its high design qualities are being recognised and awarder even if most of the times there is no big name behind the objects.
Even if famous architects and designers like BBPR, Ettore Sottsass and Gio Ponti challenged themselves with the task of creating furniture for offices and working spaces, indeed, most of the beautiful pieces that filled the space of italian offices had no signature on them, neither from the designer nor from the manufacturer.
The present industrial drawers comes from a factory located in the outskirts of Milano, and shows the signs of its past life but is nevertheless perfectly suitable to be used as is in an interior project.
It is ideal for furnishing many different styles of spaces: it will look great in an industrial loft, mancave or garage of sort, but can integrate smoothly in a contemporary or even classic interior, by creating an interesting and eclectic contrast.
The manufacturing quality is extremely high, with well refinished weldings and joints, smoothly operating roller wheels even and resistant industrial paint coating. It is well preserved, and only shows regular signs of use, with an even patina due to six decades spent in a workshop. It is perfectly steady and solid.
Industrial wheels can be assembled under the structure making the piece moving easily around the space for cleaning or just for change of position .
