A mid century bar cart, England C.1950.
Designed by Frank Guille for Kandya. A stylish piece constructed from tubular steel with lacquered bakelite trays.
Kandya was at the forefront of British furniture manufacturing in the mid 20th century. Known for its talented designers such as Paul Bridston, Carl Jacobs and Frank Guille. Kanya's collections are now highly collectable utility furniture ideal for the the mid century design interior.
Frank Guille (1927-2018) was one of Britain's finest mid-century designers.
he was taught by Robin Day and John Cole at the Beckenham School of Art. Frank went on to be taught Furniture Design by Gordon Russell, and also Danish designer Kaare Klint, who are amongst the most important ‘modern’ furniture designers.
Defined by a dedication to function, utility and simplicity. Under a string of brilliant teachers, Frank Guille was shaped to become part of a new wave of designers. Exhibiting at the Festival of Britain in 1951.
In excellent condition commensurate of age.
