About the Item

18th century, Italian neoclassical wood coffee table with alabaster oval top South Italy, Sicily, late 18th century The neoclassical table was made in the south of Italy (Sicily) between the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. It has a molded mahogany wood structure with four curved legs and goat feet. A light crossbar joins the four legs giving elegance and stability. The oval top is made of marble called Alabastro fiorito. The fine wood essence of mahogany has a dark finish that gives refinement and gracefulness and is aimed at simulating another valuable wood, such as ebony. This furniture has a rather rare compositional line and is suitable to be used as a center table, placed between two sofas or armchairs or near a wall in any room of your home, a living room, an entrance or a study.
