About the Item

Introduction Every good artist should be able to draw inspiration from nature. For “DelMare Collection”, Eduard Locota creates various representations of land and sea through his unique perspective. Artworks that became sculptures in surrealism. From clay modeling, mold making, carving wood and stone sculpting, Eduard Locota shows his deep understanding and highly controlled skills over materials. Each piece of his work expresses a powerful message. Somehow, he has a way to demonstrate the strength of each of his work even after chiseling powerful straight volumes similar to architecture, with an outer and inner sculpture for each of his transparent works. Acrylic glass and cultured marble are used for each work. The material itself was born once again through his creative process. Description delMare table, is one of those pieces that mesmerizes people. You won’t easily understand its shape and form, but you will be drawn to look at it for hours, as you would gaze into the depth of the ocean floor. Unconventional shape is an understatement. Build with interest points from all angles, on all 3 axes; the view from every single side is completely different from the other; including the bottom marble side of delMare table. The unique and innovative engineered 3 foot design of delMare table, offers beside the spectacular shape also a stability out of the ordinary; with a very low center of gravity. Build process Each DelMare table is entirely made by Eduard Locota himself (Important: not from artisans or craftsmens), from acrylic glass & marble. Each artwork is accompanied with a certificate of authenticity signed and dated by the artist. Build process takes 4 to 6 weeks for each table; please allow extra time for custom orders (materials and dimensions can be customized upon request). Dimensions Medium: L 90 cm / W 60 cm / H 33 cm Large: L 120 cm / W 70 cm / H 36 cm Extra Large: L 150 cm / W 100 cm / H 38 cm Custom: L 100-200 cm / W 60-100 cm / H 33-48 cm *Note: because each piece is 100% unique & hand made, dimensions may vary from 1 to 2 cm. Limited edition DelMare Table is limited to 35 editions. Each piece is signed by the artist and accompanied with a certificate of authenticity. About the artist, Eduard Locota: "In the contemporary context, channeled almost exclusively on our natural resources, once abundant natural resources such as fossil fuel, water and even clean oxygen, become rare commodities. In the current context focused on excessive and unsustainable consumerism, the 21st Century welcomes us with a Darwinian transformation for both men and nature. Evolution which leads to the development of a synthetic man living in a synthetic nature. Heavy topics as regeneration and sustainable environment are thrown into the arms of the future generations, that have not been born yet. Thus, the artist’s creations highlight the synthesis through alternative materials used, such as: synthetic marble (resin and marble dust), synthetic resin (Plexiglass), synthetic cement (Jesmonite), charcoal, wood, and so on. His works have a powerful conceptual plasticity but also physical plasticity, a concept that can be interpreted as modern works of the 21st Century."

Crete Dining Table by Eduard Locota, Turquoise-Blue Acrylic Glass and Marble
By Eduard Locota
Located in Timisoara, RO
The Story The eternal Greek story of sea and land braking into each other to the infinite, captured into one memorable piece – Crete Table. Monolithic, sculptural and functional artwork. A geometry with contrasting straight and fluid lines, that is hiding a message expressed through materials and of the way they interact between each other. The protagonists of the Crete Table are the materials and their apparent opposed affair. I was looking for strong contrasts between shapes, colors and transparencies – that could have the strongest impact with the less elements. There is also a bold presence in a discreet style, a table of charm that will stop the viewer’s time. Personal customization Witness the incredible journey that starts from your dream island, and end to the creation of this beautiful maritime table...
