An exceptional and most impressive French 19th century Louis XV st. Giltwood and leather center table/desk. This wonderful rectangular table is raised on four richly carved slender cabriole legs adorned with bottom scrolled acanthus leaves leading to burnished cabochons. The top cap of each leg displays scrolling foliate carvings that flank the attractive floral movements along the arbalest shaped apron and sides. The top of this attractive table showcases a gold tooled leather writing surface surrounded by a Giltwood border.
