18th Century Harewood Dressing Table

About the Item

A fine and rare late 18th century harewood dressing table, after designs by Mayhew and Ince, boxwood and ebony strung throughout, having crossbanded mitred top with pen work leaf bordered central padouk wood oval panel and fan inlay to the corners. The Table with lift up top enclosing compartments and dressing mirror with secretaire drawer below. The piece inlaid throughout with flowers, husks, swags and a central motif, supported on square tapering legs, ending on ebonized spade toes. Most noteable is the amazing inlay throughout this piece, contrasting with the unusual hair-like grain of the harewood veneers.
