Royal House Antiques Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this stunning, late 17th century, hand caved 1684 lift top writing work table traditionally used for bible storage Please note the delivery fee listed is just a guide, it covers within the M25 only for the UK and local Europe only for international, if you would like an accurate quote, please send me your postcode and I’ll provide you with the exact price. A very decorative piece, it is super collectable having the original date carved to the front with nice decorative carvings to the side. In a modern context this is the best kind of antique because not only is it beautiful, its functional, it still has a use today, the storage section can comfortably fit any modern laptop along with books and work apparatus, its really a very utilitarian desk It has all the original fixtures and fittings, the hinges are especially decorative being hand hammered and finished with wrought iron nails We have cleaned waxed and polished the desk from top to bottom, apart from normal age-related patina it’s in fine order throughout.
