This is a fine antique gentleman's correspondence desk. An English, rosewood writing table with decorative boxwood inlay, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900. Rich in detail and craftsmanship, with versatile storage and a graceful profile, ideal for study or reception room use. Handsome stepped form with an upper arcaded back rest and integrated mirror plate for added visual interest Crafted from quality stocks, displaying deep caramel hues and striking grain patterns Decorative boxwood inlay accentuates the crisp lines and profile throughout Canted upper compartments finished with ornate brass galleries — the right side hosting a useful four-division document slide Generous tooled and embossed leather skiver presents a comfortable writing surface Lower drawer suite features a pair of deep drawers flanking a central full-width drawer, all dressed with inset brass-lined locks — key absent Raised upon elegant tapering legs, terminating in brass castors for easy repositioning A superb example of Victorian desk furniture with enduring appeal and fine storage capacity This antique desk is a delightful and practical period example, and would grace any refined interior.
