Antique Georgian Period Writing / Side Table
About the Item
A smart and unusual antique Georgian period writing / side table. This was made in England, it dates from around the 1800-1810 period.
It is of very fine quality, the rectangular top has inset flame veneers and ebony borders. It stands on beautifully tapered legs terminating in brass casters. There is a single drawer with brass handles on one side, with a dummy drawer on reverse; this looks identical on both sides. It is a useful size to be used as a small desk or as an occasional side table.
We have had this re-polished, the condition is very good for its age. There is plenty of character and various signs of old wear remaining beneath the polish, commensurate for age.
