About the Item
This elegant 1970s Italian dining set by Marzio Cecchi for Studio Most comprises a striking oval glass-top table and six high-back dining chairs in rattan and stained wood. A masterful example of mid-century Italian organic modernism, the set blends tactile natural materials with sculptural form. The table’s double pedestal base in curved rattan complements the vertical rhythm of the matching chairs, each with cane-woven backs and gentle curvature.
Both functional and artistic, this dining suite stands out in contemporary, bohemian, or retro interiors. The glass surface offers transparency and elegance, while the rattan and wood construction adds warmth and artisanal depth. Cecchi’s design sensibility is on full display here, balancing geometric restraint with expressive materials.
During the 1970s, Italian designers like Cecchi explored architectural shapes and earthy tones, often using rattan, wood, and glass to soften modern interiors. Produced by Studio Most, this ensemble reflects that era’s love for material contrast and inventive proportion, making it both collectible and livable.
