About the Item
Biedermeier extending dining room table in cherry wood with brass bands from Southwest Germany around 1820.
Solid cherrywood top, strongly oval. Original, rounded brass bands around the apron. Six conical square tapers legs in solid cherry, with original brass wheels at the bottom. Original pull-out mechanism in solid oak.
Three approx. 58 cm / 22.83 in wide inlay shelves / leaves in cherry veneer and brass trims. The plates have been added, as these kind of table originally only had softwood inlay plates for certain occasion. It is extendable in 4 different lengths. When fully extended (3 extension leaves), the table offers seating for up to 10 people.
Restored condition, hand-polished with shellac.
