About the Item

Designed by ,Ovo’s head designers Luciana Martins and Gerson de Oliveira, the Equador (Portuguese for Equator) side chair emerged from the duo’s wish to work on a classic typology of design—back and arms at the same level. The solid wood structure is made of native Brazilian wood Sucupira, and the Equador chair is also available in other types of wood: Cumaru and Freijó. The diagonal line of our planet gives its name to this chair made of solid wood structure, handwoven rattan and upholstery. This sculptural piece combines the opaqueness and softness of the upholstered backrest and the lightness and transparency of the handwoven rattan seating. The latter, with its intricate yet simple design, is one of the highlights of this very comfortable chair. .
